Windsurfing: Felixstowe Fludgyers Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 25-38kts Surf / Sea State: choppy rough Air Temperature: warmish Sea Temperature: warmish Weather: fine Max Speed: 26.74 kts (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 12.3 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Arrived about 11.00, 2 out on 5.0M but it looked pretty windy slightly
offish and several sailors getting ready. Conditions looked great so rigged
4.9 Zen/115L Fanatic freewave thats sits in the water nicely with a 29cm
wave fin.
Was really hoping for a great day after choosing the wrong venue Sat. Had a
nice 30 mins then the wind increased so found it almost impossible to bear
off to gybe. Fell off quite a lot as had no control yet again. Dave said he
hadn't rigged a 4.0 in several years but used it well with a very old but
in mint condition Mistral wave board.
All the usual wave heads had the right gear.
True to forecast the wind gusts were 38kts on the HHA meters, and that was
me done as I dont have a 4M. All sailors were now on 4.0 or 4.2 ish, so had
to sit out a good hour or so. It looked great as the sea was OK, so it was
a frustrating wait.
About 1/2hr be4 I had to leave the bloody wind eased slightly so had a few
more runs. Due to lack of a 4.0/4.2 I missed another top sail, so its Ebay
yet again!
Frekking hate windsurfing I have 8 sails and still dont have the right
size!!!!
Only covered 12nm a fraction more than Sat it was a bad weekend in the
office for me.
